About Us

SOLS is a student-led organization dedicated to exploring how people learn. It blends psychology, education, and science to help students understand and improve learning in themselves and others. Key themes are cognitive psychology, educational science, self-improvement.

We aim for large impact to help the most people possible. Unlike general science or psychology clubs, SOLS focuses specifically on the science of learning. We offer interactive activities and workshops, we encourage student contributions and presentations, and where we build a community where students can share insights, reflect on habits, and grow together.

We achieve many of these goals through partnerships and collaboration with other organizations, such as The Burnaby Youth Hub, which is a welcoming, one-stop drop‑in centre for youth aged 12–24, operated by the Lower Mainland Purpose Society in partnership with local agencies.

Additionally, we run many different fundraisers and events like Tanghulu Sale, Bake Sale, and Escape Room. We are supported by a large executive team that plans for the internal and external events. Some plans we are developing on are Advice Podcasts, Student-led research papers, and International Pen Paling.
